The Journey

I'm a recent IB graduate (May 2025) who discovered the power of technology as a tool to bring meaningful change. What began as a simple question, "How can studying be made easier and more enjoyable for students?" turned into Michiko, a Discord bot now assisting over 250,000 students across 2,000+ Discord servers in more than 130 countries.

But I wanted to go deeper. That's when I created Michiko StudyHUB, a full-stack analytics platform built to offer students data-driven insights into their learning behavior. In the process of development, I fell in love with the field of data science.

Initially, the system just tracked the study time and managed Pomodoro sessions. But when I began analyzing the data, I saw definite trends like hours of peak productivity, optimal session durations, focus patterns, and subjects that required greater attention. Witnessing how raw data could be transformed into valuable insights and predictions piqued my interest in learning data science.

Due to this newfound interest, I began taking online courses to further develop my expertise in data science and AI. I explored Python programming, introduction to data science, Power BI for beginners by Microsoft, and AI ethics and the foundations of AI courses online. These courses have taught me how to begin developing my own projects, and I intend to develop a couple of simple machine learning models, including movie and book recommendation systems, as well as analyze anonymized data from Michiko StudyHUB. I also intend to open-source these projects so that others can learn from them, gain inspiration, and potentially benefit from the tools and insights I've developed.
